It's been both a busy and chill week off. We went to the San Diego Zoo last Friday. It's pretty and green. The plan was to hit Las Vegas for NYE, but we woke up sick on the 31st and Vince ended up bowing out of our sushi dinner and was in bed by 8:30pm. But getting better was worth it, and I got to take a fun NYE walk on the beach with my friend Karen. Vince told me to go out and party but I wouldn't want to be all sad & home alone sick so I stayed in. His roomie Lee & I had dinner and rang in the New Year eating cheesecake, drinking champagne, and watching fireworks from the rooftop.
Today Rizzo & Jim passed by on their way back north to Santa Barbara. We had a late lunch and then they departed for home. But not before we did some serious chatting:
Then Vince & I drove up into the mountains past Malibu to check the lookout spot. It's gorgeous - the full moon overhead and a vista of both all of LA and the other side of the range. On the way back we had Mojitos overlooking the waves at a cool place called Moonshadows. Yum!
And now the tree is down and we're back at the grind tomorrow.
